About

333 Charity is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation dedicated to supporting Holocaust survivors with essential resources, human connection, and the dignity they deserve. Born from a family story of survival and rebirth, the Foundation has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars and built initiatives that turn one chapter of history into lasting impact for an aging and vulnerable community.

STORY

During World War II, as a young mother was being led to the gas chamber at Auschwitz, she held up three fingers to her children — a final, silent message.

Those three fingers stood for an address: 333 7th Avenue, New York City. It was the office of a relative who had escaped to America before the war, and she wanted her children to know that if they survived, salvation could be found there. After the war, with much of the family lost, that promise was kept. 333 7th Avenue became the place where survivors were reunited, where new lives began, and where a family was reborn from the ashes of the old one.

For decades, the story lived quietly within the family. It was eventually passed down in a letter from one generation to the next — and that letter became the foundation of this organization.

333 Charity was established to carry the meaning of that number forward: to draw strength from adversity, to honor those who endured the unimaginable, and to make sure that the survivors still among us are not forgotten.

MISSION

333 Charity transforms one family's story of survival into action for the survivors who remain.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation, we raise funds and develop programs that directly support Holocaust survivors — many of whom now live in poverty, isolation, or both, decades after the events that shaped their lives. The Foundation's work is built on three commitments:

  • Essential resources — helping survivors meet basic needs, from food and home care to medical and emergency support.

  • Connection — combating the loneliness and isolation so many survivors face in their final years.

  • Dignity — honoring survivors not as symbols of the past, but as people who deserve comfort, respect, and joy today.

The Foundation partners with established organizations serving this community to ensure that every dollar reaches the people who need it most.
